Windows 7 install SATA HDD Question

I am preparing to make an attempt to make a clean upgrade install to Windows 7. I have a questions that I would like answered before I start. I have learned the danger of having problems with SATA Hard Drives during installation. Should I, as a average user be concerned about this? My data is backed up on Carbonite.

Should not be a problem at all with that mobo and drive.

What kind of dangers are you specifically talking about? The only thing I can think of is when installing windows w/ multiple hard drives.

Maybe issues when setting the SATA connection to IDE vs the other option? AHCI or something like that.

I don't recall now what the specific problems were but I think that it was getting the install on the HDD.

I'm guessing OP has had issues with getting older versions of Windows (XP etc) to detect SATA HDDs during install.

Rest assured OP, that Win7 is very good at detecting and insalling to SATA. You should have no problems at all.

I'd highly recommend disconnecting all other drives from the system BEFORE you start (this includes USB, eSATA etc) and making sure that your primary HDD is connected to SATA1.
