I keep getting the Error: Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the Setup log files for more information.

First question, How could i see the Setup log files?
Second question, Is this a hardware or software problem?
I have used Gparted to clear 20gigs of space in the front of the hard drive for windows to use and it hasn't worked. I have checked and made sure my boot priority is USB. I have changed it to HDD after Windows install has partitioned the space it wants just for fun...
My friend is supposed to be getting me a copy of Windows DVD installer to see if it changes anything.

This is my hard drive

and this is my motherboard if it matters

What format did you use for the 20gb partition? If it was NTFS, try FAT32. I don't know why that would be an issue, but it can't hurt to try. If setup will get you through that, then format NTFS in Windows installer.

I didn't format the first 20gigs on the hard drive and just created an extended partition for the rest of the hdd. I will format it with gparted as NTFS and FAT32 and see if windows is smart enough to figure out that it is formatted. My computer isn't hooked up to the internet atm, would that affect the installer in being able to acquire new drivers to maybe understand the hdd? Maybe I'm just grasping at straws though.

For many years use to be that solutions on these forums where in the forefront of innovation.

In the last few years the trust became the solutions of the bizarre.
