Windows 7 in pictures

they should make it retro XP style, I hate the vista look......meh i'm grumpy.

They should make it look and perform like Windows 2000.

On topic, Microsoft even doesn't see that default font is too ugly for main UI font.

... It looks so boring. 7 is supposed to be built from the ground up, though, right?
No. It's just a minor revision to Vista, similar to how XP was a minor revision to Win2K.

It basically has the same cluttered non intuitive interface as Vista. I was hoping for an interface revamp so that I can dump my Vista 64 Business. I guess that will probably not happen.

Totally... they should do to windows what they did with office 2007. The new office 2007 interface is great! It actually is better than the menu riddled crap that came before, its all buttons and tabs, good stuff. Not saying windows should be all buttons and tabs but i think it needs a complete overhaul.

Apple would be good at something like this i imagine.

I heard there is a profile based user interface for Administrators, gamers, developers and so on, their new office 2007 UI has been hugely successful especially among end-users.

Whats wrong with Vista Business?

It seems people like to take a pop at MS because it's cool and in.

The main points to windows 7 are making it "lite" and improving the windows server 2008 kernel (which used an improved vista kernel) as it's base. It will support virtual hard disks...So they say !

Does it have a usuable commandline? When i am looking for an OS, that is my priority, i really couldn't care less about icons or menu layouts or any of that crap.

And by usable i mean something like Bash or Csh.

I really don't know what on Earth you guys are expecting. It's been known since day one that this would be a minor release. Generally MS doesn't do interface overhauls on minor releases, XP was the exception since it was the merging of the NT and 9x lines.

Nah MS is alright but theres a bunch of obvious stuff they could improve on. Still cant save position of icons on desktop after like 13 years of having a desktop, still cant drag and drop programs around on the taskbar... its just things like this that make me think come on guys why cant i do simple stuff like this.
