Windows 7 HTPC resolution too big, cant see start bar

Ive been running my HTPC with Vista for the last year or so with no problems. Today I installed Windows 7 and my resolution is all screwed up. The HTPC is using the onboard graphics card on a Intel BOXDG45ID and is plugged into a 42" Sharp LCD 1080p over HDMI. The resolution is set to 1920x1080 but its as if that resolution is too big for the tv, the desktop does not fit on the screen. I can only see half of the start bar and if I have a window maximized (as you can see in the picture below) I can not see the windows title bar at the top.

All drivers are up to date, any ideas?

Also, if I move the mouse to the edge of the screen, the desktop does not scroll, the mouse just keeps going.

Set your TV to 1:1 pixel mapping, if it has that setting (It may be titled differently). Also, check to make sure that it's not 1920 x 1080 interlaced. Win7 likes to default to that setting with the NVIDIA drivers for some reason. At least it does on mine.

It is called overscan. If your TV doesn't allow for 1:1 Pixel Mapping the only way to fix it is to use GPU specific overscan controls. Nvidia's control panel lets you do that, I don't know about Intels...

Intel should have overscan correction feature. If not, their latest drivers definitely will.

I had something similar on my sony HDTV, what happened was i was watching TV zoomed in. maybe yours is zoomed in too?? set it to normal
