Windows 7 getting weird?

Needing some help here,

Just installed a copy of win 7 x64 on my Vertex 3 120GB (112GB useable) and after installation the available disk space is 79GB 😱. Shouldn't it be more like close to 100? I am using ACHI which am assuing its better than IDE for my drive. My board is Gigabyte P67-UD5.

I had the same issue with a Vertex 2 60GB.

Would appreciate some help
 
That's about normal, these days a 120gb HD isn't much. I run Win 7 64bit, Microsoft claims the minimum requirement for 64 is 20gb hdd space, but after all is said and done it's actually about 35gb after installation and all updates SP1 etc. So your usable minus the 35gb is normal. I suggest getting a much larger drive.
