Windows 7 E

Windows 7 E is the European version that has no Internet Explorer in it. That's fine because I hate IE, but how would one use Windows Updates to install fixes and stuff?

Is there a Firefox addon of some sort that lets you use Windows Updates or what?

I have a question. SO if a PC is purchased in the EU by Grandma and GRandpa and they take it home and get it running. How are they going to get online?

One would assume that the OEM that you purchased it from would have installed a browser of their choice.

The current plan seems to be to have a list come up on first boot asking them what browser they would like to download. http://arstechnica.com/microso...fer-browser-ballot.ars

If they need to use a browser before they actually have a functional connection (such as some connection-management systems that want you to register the device before use, through a web browser), they will have to get creative. Or call over one of the grandkids.

Edit: update.
