Windows 7 doesn't require new hardware

ChirsFlores from MS has posted some info about Windows Vista and the upcoming OS Windows Seven. I am going to list some main highlights about Seven taken from the blog

1. Windows 7 is a major release.

2. It doesn't use new kernel but an updated kernel based on the features of Vista, SP1 and Server 2008.

3. It is architecturally identical to vista.

4. Will not impact hardware/software compatibility. So any vista capable PC can handle Seven.

neither does vista. it runs great on my almost 5 year old p4 box.

Any current new hardware will be at least 2 years old when Windows 7 does arrive around 2010,ironically my new hardware was a couple years old too when I first installed it on Vista which ran fine on stability/peformance etc...

Windows 7 has potential IMO. Personally I like Vista, but due to how much was changed/reworked they had trouble getting a product out the door that was useable. Just like when OSX originally launched, it wasn't great for every Mac user out there, but it quickly improved to get to where it's at today. Windows 7 can focus on refining the work they have already done with Vista and DX10 in order to get a product that's stable, secure, and runs acceptably on most hardware (assuming Windows 7 requires similar hardware to Vista).

I agree, let them build from vista, vista is extremely solid for me.

Anyone notice the lag when drawing with finger in Paint? Touch feature is cool but it should be very easy to use and efficient.
MS has been improving graphics and UI but usefulness and efficiency has not been upto par.
I don't mind Vista's feature but its bloated UI is the culprit on most of problems I have.

Sorry I misspelled your Forum ID. I said I'll check our site logs because one can never tell whats going on, I was worried about SQL code injection thing that happened to redmondmag. We have 5 SQL servers running as a site db backend with sensitive info like Offender records,fingerprints, customer info and such. I wonder if code injection is possible through asp.net ajax scripts? I know this is a bit off topic but I am just curious.

The MS site that mechBgon suggested has a link to a detailed lab that explains SQL Injection and how to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities.

I've been using Vista Ultimate x64 since it was released, I might get a Upgrade version of Windows 7 when it comes out.
