i just updated win 7 pro and after I shutdown and booted back up all my internet connections would not work. Ethernet or Wifi. It claimed it could not find an IP address. wifi and ethernet was working on other devices. Just not the recently updated Win 7 comp.

What did you update from? Sounds like you need new drivers for yr network card.

Check in Device Manager.

And, is yr bios current? Chipset drivers?

Is yr new installation of W7 64 fully patched? MS should have the drivers you need, after all. But can't go there without normal net connection.

Open a command prompt and type ipconfig /renew.

Let us know what message you get.

I would also try booting into safe Mode with Networking. If that restores yr net, then I would try a clean boot to troubleshoot any conflicts.

Probably. I never let windows update any of my network adapters. It ALWAYS breaks them and I have to uninstall the update.

I never let Windows update ANY drivers, always has disabled WiFi when I am fixing someone's computer!
