Windows 7 64 Bit

I am trying to install the new ATI drivers for my 5770 however it says I cannot as my operating system which is windows 7 - is 64 bit and they are for a 32 bit system - I just built this system- Did I make a mistake in picking the 64 bit - operating system over 32 bit? Could someone please explain the difference between the two ?

Go to the ATI site and download the 64-bit drivers....
