Why don't you want to restart? Is it a server or you're just lazy???
BTW do you have SP2 installed?

Hmm, I see. Interesting, try going to tweakfiles.com and download one of the ram refresh programs, see if that works. Otherwise you might need to restart.

PS: Starting with 540 out of 640 is normal, I had 512 and usually start with like 420.

Hmm, oh well. That'll be good for now I guess. If it gets low just run it again and when you finish make sure you reboot.

Try finding out what program is causing it too. For me it's Anarchy Online that does it. They have a memory leak the size of texas. But thats cause they just "forgot" to unload character textures when you move between areas.... with hundreds of people that quickly adds up to hundreds of MB of textures loaded in RAM... game used 400MB of RAM within an hour for me.

Thats sometimes hard to tell, like I mentioned Anarchy Online above... it will say the game is taking up 100MB.... but then I look at total memory usage and its at 400. Win2K doesnt keep track of lost memory at all for a certain program, it will however show up that memory as taken under total memory usage.

I think he has checked, otherwise this thread was wasted, hehe.
Yes, anarchy online has some horrible RAM managements.

Their RAM managment really isnt THAT bad, its just they dont unload character textures EVER, they stay in memory when you zone which they shouldnt do.

Hehe. It'll probably be fixed, the game is still new. I heard that WWII really sucks at RAM management, takes like 700 or something to run good, haha.

Thats strange when my memory gets to low in win 2k some little memory recovery dialogue pops up automatically and tell me it is recovery memory then a little progress bar does its thing and after all that it tells me that i now have 150 meg of free ram this usually happens when i open an app that suddenly wants a large amount of ram and it isn't available. I just let it do it's thing and keep on with what i am doing and everything runs fine.
