Hi i had a 8GB hard drive with partitions 2GB and 6GB for Win98 and Win2K respectively. I bought a Western digital 60GB hard drive and have set it up as a slave. When i log in under Win98 i have no problem in seeing the New hard drive. But when i log in under Win 2k, the desktop comes up, with all the icons, and it restarts. I am not sure what the problem is. I have tried partitioning the new hard drive but still it does not seem to work. Could someone please help me out. I am not sure if i have put it in under the right topic either. Please help me out.

Thanks in advance

Id say to try booting into 2k in safe mode, then removing all the hard drives from device manager and restarting..I had 1 time that 2k didnt like the mulit partition drive I installed and the above trick worked for me.
Good luck

Windows 2000 has an option to restart when a stop error occurs. If you turn that option off (or check out your event viewer) you should be able to catch the stop error.
