I've used both Windows 2000 and XP. What is the better choice, in your opinion (I'm reformatting another system and I need an idea of what OS I should use). I have both Windows 2000 (I got a copy from my friend), and Windows XP Corporate Edition (Burned Copy I was given by system builder).

I have Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and prefer the Windows 2000. Startup time (longer on Win2k) is not an issue for me, as I rarely restart the computer

My personal preference for my own PC is Windows 2000, since it is more stable and basic.

However, I got to think, will the extras in Windows XP be better for a family computer than Windows 2000?

Windows 2000 is less bloated and isn't as nagging. It also lacks Windows Product Activation, but you don't have a legal copy of XP so that isn't important.

With a little tweaking, XP can be just as efficient and clean as Windows 2000 with a little more room for expansion, so go ahead with XP.

I ran XP and 2000 at the same time for a while, and I came to the conclusion that i liked XP better, and as said before, classic theme.

Out of the two choices I personally like 2K better, because is less bloated. XP is evil, don't use it. XP also has a lot of features that you don't need that much. In the Windows world, and upgrade is only worth it every 5 years, if the OS has been completely remodeled and change. :)
