Can a clean install be made without NT?

From my experience you can clean install as long as you give it a previous MS operating system disk to verify you are upgrading when it asks for one. Do you have a link?

Is this 2000 pro? Will this only work "over" NT? Or can you do a complete new install (if you have an NT disk)?

Anyone?

<< I think the $70 rebate only apply to those who has Windows NT >>

I think that wjones is correct. I seem to remember upgrade from NT3.5 or NT 4.0 to be eligible for the rebate.

I second that. The rebate is only for NT user. And when you do the installation, it will ask if you want to upgrade or do a clean install.

Two questions guys:

1. where is the $30 coupon?
2. how will MS verify your previous ownership of NT? i have a "backup" version of NT4, but not any boxes or such...

thanks

I think only people who previously purchased window NT qualify for the rebate. OEM users of windows NT are most likely excluded from this offer i.e. if you purchased a dell computer and it came with windows NT then you're excluded from the offer. I don't know what microsoft will ask for the proof of purchase though. My guess is it could be the license or the flap from the NT box.

MS usually asked for the first page of user manual, the one with product key. Backup copy are most likely not qualify.
