hello it is my birthday in a few days and I want to get a tv Tuner that works with windows 2000, I knows that ATI-TV wonders as a Beta Driver... is it good or not? If not is there someting good out there for windows2000

Thanks for your help

The Hauppauge WinTV pci series works with Win2K. The remote control that comes with some of them also works, but there are some slight problems with the controller software in Win2K. No biggie...

Yep the WinTV pci works nice, it should be noted that I don't bother using the remote but I've used it under 95B, 98F+SE, ME, NT 4.0SP4,5,6, and Windows 2000,SP1. It seems to start a capture fastest under NT4 and Windows 2000. However, under those OS's, when viewing in windowed mode(non full screen), I've never been able to get more than 640x480 even with the latest direct x runtimes and video drivers. Under the 9x OS's, I can stretch to any size I want. Also, Windows 2000 doesn't seem to work as well with overlays as it should. (i.e. if I repeated press a button on the WinTV app program) the image will freeze until I refresh the window by minimizing it and restoring it.) Very minor stuff though, probably related more to the Voodoo 3 2000 that using for my primary display.

Oh yeah, my brother has a Pinnacle Studio, PCTV pci card, it works under 98,F+SE, ME, and Windows 2000 as well(hasn't tried with 95B or NT4SPx). Apparently with fewer problems than I've had with the Hauppauge despite his primary display also being a V3 series card.
