Windows 2000 Terminal Server

I know that Win2k Server/Adv. Server have the capabilities of logging in via terminal server. Is there anyway that I could do the same with win2k pro? I'm setting up a server for my house, and I want to put it in the basement and be able to log into it as a terminal server.

No, but you could use VNC its free ware and works very well. We use it at work on most of our NT4 servers and some Win2K Pro machines.

Cool thanks.... another question. If I get win2k server, does it come with terminal server, or do I need to get that separately.

Comes with it, but it requires separate licensen.
Microsoft just wont give away something that all UNIX's have had for ages.

If you run TS as an administrative tool you do not need a seperate licensing. TS will allow you to do remote admin with the exception of some issues that you will see with Norton AV(I see it on the 7.5 Corp Edition). I enjoy using it as it allows you to build the client disk and install the client on a system and "reach" out to the server from about anywhere with the interface seeming as if you just logged in. Any questions let me know.

Thanks guys for all the help. I think I'll just use this VNC program w/ win2k instead of getting win2k server. This program kicks some major butt. Thanks Nitsuj!! 😀
