windows 2000 system process 99% help!

Whenever I boot up into windows 2000 professional it is really slow. I press Cntl + Alt + Del and see that my CPU use is at 99% to 100% and its all being taken up by the system process. Usually system idle uses much CPU but now that system is using it all I can hardly use programs.

How can I change this?

how do i find device driver's?

i think this could be a big part of it but am not sure how to get a list of device drivers to come up
