Windows 2000 SP2

I'm not sure when the final release is coming out, but the current Beta seems to fix all the issues I have had. In my oppinion it's ready for realease. Hopefully they think the same thing and we'll see it very soon.

Right now it looks as if it will be in Apr. Last thing that I heard was it would occur at about the same time as XP goes Beta2
 
I got a link off of Twead3D a few moments ago. Download took a few minutes over cable (no more than 10). I won't be trying the install on my system tho. 😉

It's still beta, but someone guided me down the right path. I was hoping for Ultra100 improvement, and I found it. Better than the hotfix as well. I say, "Release it now!" We've waited long enough.

If these fixes are complete, I don't see why they don't include them with SP2 since it hasn't officially been released yet. Someone care to explain?
 
they're testing sp2 as a set. putting sp3 fixes in sp2 might break some stuff, and it'll keep pushing back the release date. you can always install hotfixes.

XP already went beta 2. My work got it last Friday if I remember correctly.
 
As you can see from my sig I have SP 2 RC 2.52. Fianl was supposed to be out in Febuary!!!! SO who knows, I mean MS just released the bug fixes in SP3 for w2k and we still ahve no sp2. By the way SP2 RC 2.52 works great.

followup-
ok, tried the reinstall of atapi.sys, and got win2k........ yeah!
installed the via 4.29 drivers, same prob. , installed it again.......
got ata/100 almost working.........

the new drive is on the pci card, but the computer doesnt boot if I hook up
the maxtor drive, which has w98/win2k.........
get boot drive error after the bios...........

When I stated that it SP2 was going go gold when XP went Beta2 I was working under the understanding that date was a 17 Mar date(I think). I would not be surprised if the Release date for SP2 is in the Middle of April... Haven't have the time to really find out.
