Is the 2000 resource kit free? I found some free tools from it on MS's site, but haven't been able to track down cusrmgr yet - which I want to use to force all users to change their passwords on their next login (found a site with instructions here). So, any ideas?

Yes, it is afree and the cusrmgr applet is installed as part of the admin kit. With a default install, it'll be located in the C:program files\resource kit folder

Okay, well, maybe I'm just being retarded, but this is all I can find. Can I get a copy of the companion CD from MS or what?

Sorry, my mistake. It's been so long since we installed the resource kit I forget which tools were free.

No worries - I appreciate your replies. So... basically, if I want the cusrmgr tool, I'm going to have to buy the resource kit? Is that right? Because I really don't see much point in purchasing it when all the information in the books is freely available online. Why can't the bastards just make all the tools available as well? Know of anywhere I can get (buy if need be) *just* the CD?

MS and their money machine, I guess.

I looked a few places on teh web just to see if it was available for download now legally and didn't come across any. Looks like you'll have to pay for the kit.

I do know one of my counterparts at another company can do most all of what that tool can do by scripting, but I'm not that familiar with Windows Sript host so fall back on the kit.
