Colleague opened anonymous FTP on an FTP server, and within days it was 'tagged' (marked by a cracker as his personal warez domain).
With some luck I can be the one telling the manager who made that decision off
Edit: With a combination of tools from the resource kit we managed to remove the directories, we closed the anonymous FTP, and we notified the ISP from which the attack took place. It was an ISP for companies only, so judging from that fact, as well as the name of the machine, one of their customers had a compromised firewall.
