Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP Pro

Just wondering what is everyones opinions regarding the above two operating systems and which is the better one to run regarding best performance and for gaming?

Almost two different questions. From what I know, Win2K is the "better" OS, but XP is the more friendly as far as gaming. It depends upon what you emphasis is. Maybe if you were a bit more specific as to your needs?
 
Currently I am running Win 2K...I had Win XP Pro before but it did not run as smoothly as I thought it would...I have better results with 2K as far as internet.
But recently I have picked up a WD1200JB and think my bigfoot HD was the bottleneck in the Win XP configuration. So now I deciding which OS to load on it once I open the package. Primarly I am looking for internet and gaming performance....and looking for the best in SPEED first then stability.

I've used both, and they both worked very well. They both seem to be rather fast on my computer, but Win2k seems to use less memory.

But since you'll be gaming and whatnot, you should go with XP.
