Hey people..

I just thought I'd ask real quick whether or not anyone knows of a way to change a password. I could do an overlay install if it's not possible to do that without losing any data... but that's a little bit of a pain to do. The OS in question was configured to have a user logged on at all times during the install. So the individual can use the computer anytime she wants. Unfortunately, she forgot what the password is not only for her account... but also for her administrator account. Is there any way to reset either of these without having to put in the password before changing it to a new one? I know how to go into Control panel and users and set it so that she has to change her password the next time she boots up. Question is.. will she have to put the old one in first before putting in the new one? Also, she is in the administrators group... so would she then be able to do the same thing for the administrator account?

Any help/input would be appreciated, thanks.
 
As far as the OS goes, no.

If you can log in as an administrator, you can change another user's password.

If you can't log in as an administrator, there's no way to reset the password. You'll need to resort to third party utilities.
