I upgraded my machine at work from Win98 to Win2k. Why is it that the short-cuts to Word and Excel documents on my desktop now give me a warning messages that the document is already open and that I can't have 2 documents with the same name open? I can open them directly with their respective programs but not with short-cuts.
These are shared files on network drives so copying them onto my "My Documents" folder is not a feasible solution. My guess is it has something to do with Win2k setting up separate user accounts.
Can anybody shed some insight into this and how to get around this?
Thanks.
