I've had this problem for some time since building my new computer. At random times my computer will go to a BSOD. Here's the message in the Event Viewer:
"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x0100005a, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80064cb9). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini021901-03.dmp."

The BSOD contains this information as well as IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL at NDIS.sys

Here's the closest match I could find in the Windows 2000 Knowledge Base: Link

I've had this problem since I built my computer, but at first it only occured when downloading multiple files on IRC. The problem is happening more reguraly now, especially when using Napster with Napigator, or just IRC. The computer is a Duron with plenty of ram. I've tried updating all of the drivers for my system but still no fix. Anyone with a solid understanding of the problem want to try and guide me through fixing this pesky error or diagnosing the source of the problem?

I'd greatly appreciate any help.

TIA, Cameron

Need more info. Right click on my computer and click manage. Expand event viewer and look first in System. Tell us what you see there, and also what you find under applications above it. Look for red x's and yellow exclamation points.

The System log contains, starting event log messages and then the save dump message that I guoted in my original post. The only other recent message I saw was: "The PfModNT service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."

This isn't a regular occurance, whereas the save dump message happens again and again.

The only errors in the Applications log are from "true vector service" and say

"The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( True Vector Service ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event:" Then there is some data I can post if you think they are relevant.

That's it

Okay, NDIS is the network system, so I'd take a stab at moving the NIC to another slot, changing the driver or getting a differnet NIC.

The symptoms make sense also, it happens when you bring files across the network.

I remember having that same BSOD message quite a while ago. But I have forgotten how I went about fixing it. I think it came down to switching around some of those PCI cards that I had....
