Windows 2000 - File Browser Randomly Erroring "No Disk"

About 25% of the time when I'm presented with the "Browse for Folder" window (the one where you select a download directory in bittorrent, or the one where you specify the decoding directory in winamp) I have a disk not found error when I click to expand My Computer, two in a row in fact... any ideas as to what's causing this?
