I don't want to scare anyone away from win2000 with that title, but i have the most odd (and consistant) program crash that i have ever seen. After I have done any sort of file manipulation(copy paste etc...), i get an error message and my session of explorer will die. sometimes the desktop will die. It seems to crash about one in 10 times or so... I can relogin, and everything is fine, but its really annoying...

this is the message from the Application log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Winlogon
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1002
Date: 6/28/2000
Time: 7:17:43 PM
User: N/A
Computer: PC12
Description:
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

If anyone has any idea about how to fix this, i would greatly appreciate it...

dave

p.s. other than this, its been rock solid...

What Devices do you have? hardware? motherboard?

I read somewhere someone was having the same problem, I believe they are using VIA 133a chipset, if thats what you have might try installing newer drivers....
