Windows 2000. Blue Screen after .NET Framework 1.1 Install

Hello,
I am installing microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 on my windows 2000 with SP4 computer. After downloading the 23.1MB file, from miscrosoft update site, I get a blue screen, and computer is dead. Any ideas what is going on? Is there any other site where you can download this on a CD?

What does the bluescreen say? Without that we're probably not going to be much help.

It does not say anything. My cursor moves over it, but that is all, Looks like it is frozen. I had to switch the computer off at the power supply and then on again
