2ibm gxp in raid 0
wd bood drive
tnt2ultra
linksys lne100tx
sblive

Why does all my devices share the same irq number
i have the
sb live
tnt2ultra
linksys
raid controller
via usb controller

all these devices are sharing the same irq setting # 7

btw i'm new to win2k.. and its driving me nuts

Normal behavior - w2k creates its own "virtual" IRQs. As long as hardware is w2k compatible it works fine.

thanks....

now i'm running into a weird problem.. everytime i try to install q3 it does about 16 percent and then the computer just powers off and starts to reboot...

See if you can find an error messsage in event viewer that might give a hint as to what the problem might be.

Sounds a lot like your RAM can't keep up to your bus setting. Are you running at defaults? TNT drivers up to date?

i was getting some crazy problems... all from irq sharing.. i disabled acpi(spelling) and reinstalled each device insuring that they didnt share irq numbers.. All is well.. very stable ... been running some rc5 for teamanad... playing q3.. on gods.fuq.org default port.... our clan..

I was about to resort back to win me.. but i stuck with it.. over 3 days solid now of reinstalling and whatnot.. I'm new to win2k.. We battled and now we are friends..

Yeah, Microsoft programmed ACPI crummy. I read their tech note giving some unintelligible excuse for why IRQ have to be shared but I couldn't understand it.:|🙁:Q🙂:Q🙁:|
