Ok I am really pissed and don't know what to do. I have an Asus v7700 and just installed a fresh copy of win2k. I tried to install the drivers but every f*cking time I install them windblose tells me that "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver."

GRRRRRRR...this happened to me before so I reinstalled and I get the same bullshit. A few months ago this never happened.

can someone please help me out?

BTW - i am trying to install the ref 6.31 drivers. I tried pointing to them and I tried running the executable.

please help me out

My friend had that very same problem with his Herc MX card. The only solution we found was to format and reinstall. The fact that youre on a fresh install is odd, but you might want to format one more time anyway.

well i just did that. I don't see how it would make any difference. The first thing I tried to do was install the card.

Make sure you have the latest drivers (official release) for you chipset (i.e. via 4 in 1 ver.4.25,or intel drivers).I had a problem similer to this with my creative GF2.

I'm just using a damn 440bx with a 750e. I don't get this shiz. It's like I restart windows and everything goes back to the way it started.

I even tried to update my promise controller with the perf. driver and then rebooted and the damn thing went back to normal. This is really pissing me off.

can someone please help? i don't know what to do other than format again. good thing i have a 2nd installation on another drive. 🙂

Once again, that is the same problem that my friend had. Try once more to reinstall before you give up. I know it seems redundant, but it just might work. Try installing the factory drivers first.

Try Remove the device from device manager

then Add the device back in from control panel

thatz how i got mine working

thanks for the help guys but I have done all of that many times over again. I had this problem before but I got it by cleaning out my oem*.inf files so I guess I will just reformat again. I don't see why this isn't working. Damn windows. I tried to install other drivers for devices also but it just friggin doesn't do it.

I had this problem.
I reinstalled Win2K and it was all better.
Only problem is that I had to reinstall Win2K.
