You can download and install it using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, or Create a Windows 11 Installation Media, or Download a Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO).
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Downloaded and installed it this morning on my desktop. No problems, installed programs not effected.
Edit 9/24: Successfully upgraded my desktop, 2 laptops, and my HTPC. Ran C drive Disk Cleanup on all. I noticed that you cannot run it from File Explorer like I could before with 21H2. There are other ways though to run it.
From File Explorer and from Search:

I also ran sfc /scannow on all computers and it found corrupted files and fixed them. Coincidence? I did not check the CBS.log to see if they (it) were the same files.

Downloaded Win 11 22H2 ISO from MS.

Made Bootbale 16GB Flash Drive using Rufus 3.2 with the choice of Bypassing the "Boycott" of old computers.

Two Computers are were running Win 11 21H2. Upgraded today, and seem to run well Win 11 ver. 22H2

1. Made the in-place Upgrade on a i7 Kaby Desktop.

Took 25 Min. and everything thus far working OK.

2. Made in-place install on an HP old laptop ( HP61-AMD Athlon II M300 circa 2010) upgraded with SSD.

Took 2 hours and 40 min., but successful and working OK.

I just checked/Tested basic and needed Apps. So... It might be that there he some surprises with time passing.

3. Made the in-place Upgrade on a i5 sandy Bridge Desktop (Cirfa 2014).

Took 2 Hours and everything thus far working OK.

While the three In-place Upgrades mentioned above work OK, I found some confabulation in their Update system.

The i7 computer tries to install further Upgrade past the Default installation and it stuck in an Endless Retry that would download further 22H2 updates.

The i5 display in the Update a list of 5 files from 21H2 that would Update and would not Go away.

This issue does not affect the actual functioning of the New Win11 22H2 installations and I assume that it will be solve in the near Future.

Few comments about Win 11 22H2 Upgrade.

By now I dealt with the 22H2 upgrade on few computers that ran 21H2.

Clean Install is smooth and does not seem to yield any problem.

InPlace Install is another story.

All of the computer upgraded (whether Home or Pro version) kept working well after the Upgrade.

But few Computers while in general working OK yield an Update problem. Error 0x800f0806

The Update system got stuck on one Update file and as result froze the update system.

Solution.

Use this URL to download manually from MS the Problematic Update

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=kb5017321

Download the top file.

2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5017321)

This will download a windows11.0-kb5017321-x64xxxxxxxxxxxxx.msu file to your computer

Open the file and let it run (it will take few minutes). Basically it installs Few Updates that preceded the Update that does not work.

When the MSU file finish restart the computer, go back to Update and Retry. At this point the Bad Update will download and install correctly.

What might we expect from Microsoft as we attend toward the Fall 2025 25H2 release?

I suppose I would have until October 13, 2026 to "figure it out".

JackMDS: You discuss successful Win 11 experiences on a Kaby Lake and a Sandy Brdige. All of my systems are either SKY or KABY Lake. I believe we have a good chance for less trouble with Win 11 using that hardware: I installed TPM 2.0 modules in all my motherboards.

But -- SANDY BRIDGE?! That goes back a while! I gave away my last SB i7-2700K before 2022. Nice -- to know what you can do with Win 11 and old hardware, but the mobos I remember only had PCIE 2.0.

Anything with at least Skylake cores -- and I think that design continues through Coffee Lake -- should have a pretty good chance for a normal "Windows 11 lifetime".

I hope!
