is there away to permanently stop windows 10 updates/upgrades and delete the windows BT folder?

Delete the Windows BT folder:
Run the disk cleanup wizard with elevated privs (run as admin), the option is in there.

If I type 'disk cleanup' in the start menu, I get an option for it. On Win81, it should have a non-cog looking icon (ie. not the one in the 'Settings' app).

but did NOT remove the windows BT folder

I can't delete it as an administrator?

Did it empty the folder or at least make it a lot smaller?

You probably can delete it as an admin (you'll probably have to change folder ownership beforehand).

Assuming you're an admin, take ownership of the files.

Use Linux LiveCD/USB to delete those pesky files. Very easy.
