Anyone upgrade yet?
Good? No good?
Problems with BOINC apps?

Just curious before I start.

One has upgraded, I didn't get much choice, couldn't exit out after making wrong mouse click, decided to restart and bam, upgrading.

Seems fine afterwards, Milkyway was running several seconds per task faster in fact! (3 at a time) NFS is running at similar speeds on the CPUs.

The system was a very lightly loaded system, just windows, Firefox, and BOINC.

Boy...after reinstalling all the stuff 'lost' during the upgrade, un-checking and turning off all the potential security leaks, I'm in no hurry to upgrade any more machines.
I'm not liking the default color scheme either, but am to tired to figure out how to change that.

Hmm, you lost programs during the install? :/ What about data?

I had meant to come back to this thread and mention the incredible invasion of privacy that vs 10 is, in it's default state. And I thought Facebook had issues with privacy!! Are those permissions what you are calling security leaks? Or did I miss something during the install?

Looks like Cortana isn't going to get used much, as she requires too many permissions to suite me.

When I connected Win10 to a network, it wanted to know if I wanted to trust the networks that my contacts trust (who trust the networks that their contacts trust, who trust the...oh you get the idea).

Is it just me or is that just ridiculously insecure? It (seems that it) will have you trusting every network on the planet eventually.

Yes it has stuff open every where that you have to turn off. Check the operating system forum. Wireless settings to driver updates from MS. Reporting to MS on everything you do...might want to put some duct-tape on that camera.;)
I lost my nvidia drivers for video and sound just after I had updated everything. Also all my bookmarks disappeared. Yes I had made backups of everything, but didn't think with an "update" I'd have to reload things :( The machine I updated is a HTPC so not much is on it. I didn't lose programs and what little is on there besides the OS was fine.

Box two upgraded. Has Nvidia Quadro 4000 GPU, no graphics driver available, although the last driver package is dated 7/29. Silly Nvidia.

Also took some pics of all the info MS wants you to share with them. All of these are ON by default.

So far I like it better than 8 or 8.1. The UI is toned down to the point it make sense and is smoother on touch or mouse/keyboard. Will be middle of week before I do any boinc projects on it. Have to fix a bad network drop in my office at new house.

Found out that WWWPublishing service is enabled by default. FUBARed the Apache on my second machine upgrade.
Other than that...
