Just how can MS screw up 20H2 Cumulative Updates anymore then they have in the past ?

It hung up at the 20% mark while installing for 1/2 hour - Be careful and be patient just wait and wait, I guess ?

I forced a reboot after it 100% installed only to get a looping re-entry notice to install the update with every subsequent reboot.

I ended up rewriting my WinX installation with a 10 day old image and checked for updates and ran KB5003173 (Approx 613 MB's) again with success but waited for something like 30 minutes before the reboot notice finally appeared.

Really; MS Crap Updates are NOT dependable - Thankfully I run Macrium Reflect to backup partitions on a Regular bases

You are smarter than you look Z. Just about all issues of a no-boot nature are posted by members here who have no backup. You are a wonder to behold and a lesson for us all.Pat yourself on the back and don't forget to pay the lady on the way out .

Good idea having a backup. You never know when MS is going to get drunk and go on a rampage on your PC. That's probably just how it is now.

After the 2004 update on my work machine it now says "Please wait..." for 2-3 minutes on every boot. What is it doing? Making me wait I guess.
