I recently installed a laptop (Windows 10) at a client's house and a brand new HP Officejet Pro 6968, software installation went fine but the scan to email option doesn't work.

Traced the issue back to the fact that the .mapimail extension wasn't set to use Thunderbird, despite the fact that it is currently set as the default mail program in default apps. When clicking on the .mapimail extension it simply spits back the option to go onto the app store to locate a program to handle this file type.

Now I did do a little digging while onsite and found numerous posts from a few years ago stating that it wasn't possible at the time, but I'm curious to see if anyone has had any luck in getting this to work?
He's currently able to scan to file and then to email but would like to have the convenience

So you have to have and sign into a Microsoft Windows account in order for the function to actually work?
