Windows 10 - 980TI SLI - GTA V sudden performance BLAST

OK, I suspected something was odd when I played GTA V on my new windows 10 installation. It performs better, like, a lot better. Anyone else notice this about this game in particular? Or is it more likely that I am benefiting from the clean installation of windows 10. Maybe my old 8.1 install was gunked up.
When driving to the top of a hill with Ultra grass enabled, on 8.1 I would get like 65fps up there. Now its flying at around 90 to 100 and GPU utilization is far better than before and not a single skip or stutter while driving. 100% smooth perfection since clean install of windows 10. Am I alone here? I think something unique happened because this doesn't seem normal. I think my 8.1 install must have been borked.

Were you by chance using DSR on your Win8.1 setup and just didn't activate it yet in Win10? I can imagine a slight performance boost with Win10, as we've seen with other games, but a 50%+ increase seems odd.

It wasn't DSR. Maybe I had more AA enabled and just forgot or something. Maybe the drivers were screwed too, but something is very different with this game.

EDIT: Well hell, my old SSD is still there. I'll just boot from it and check out the game.
