Just downloaded and installed 11082 update, everything seems fine so far.

What is the sound that a Guinea Pig makes 😛

Just sitting through the updates and the screens going black and restarting always seems a little ominous.

Especially the restart screens seem to sound like "We've updated you're computer" and some messages MS has gotten a bit ominous.

Anyway, just a minor Nerd going where the major Nerds have all ready gone, it seems stable and working well so far.

*Much* snappier, and I'm running a Phenom II X6 mobo with an 850 EVO as my boot drive. I do believe the MS haters are getting less to hate these days ;>)
 
Are you running a developer build out of interest? I am still waiting for my SP3 to get the 10586 update.

to create a bootable USB thumb drive.
The same USB thumb drive may also be used to update "in place" from an earlier Windows 10 build, or also from Win 7/8/8.1.
Can then be used to do the "in place" update (boot into the existing installation, then click on the setup.exe file to begin the update; unplug from the internet, or else un-select the "get updates first" checkbox) to either Windows 10 Home or Pro, which won't affect the version status afterwards.

Well, I mean, other than:
Languages packages and Features on Demand will fail to install on this build. We are investigating workarounds.
When copying, deleting, or moving files there will be no progress dialog shown. The file action will complete without intervention. This can cause confusion when acting on large files or directories.
With this build, application defaults for some applications will be reset. Music & Video will default to Windows Media Player. This can be reconfigured opening Cortana or Search and searching for “Choose default apps by file type” to open the correct settings page.

Build 11082 is a preliminary "insider preview: Redstone" build; the "final" Redstone build won't be released for another several months. Think of "Redstone" as Windows 10 SP2, if the November build 10586 (a.k.a. Windows 10 version 1511) was SP1, and the July build 10240 was "RTM", except Microsoft never said that that build was to be officially known as "RTM".
But: most people refer to build 10240 as "RTM".

right, so it means the installation of Build 11082 will be like a full OS install the same way 10586 when updates from 10240, it left a Windows.old folder as if this was an entire OS upgrade not just a small Windows update.
 
I'm running 11082 as well. I haven't noticed it being any more or less snappy, but then Win10 has been quick for me on this MX200 ssd no matter what.

Has anyone noticed performance differences in apps or benchmarks with this build?

Yep, so does not exactly match "SP" term, it seems to be little more than that. Not sure what is the decision behind that, but it makes easier for us end users who reinstall often. We don't need to slipstream, or even worse, use windows update on "naked" installation.

Interestingly, my tablet is still on RTM, although it has updates enabled by default.
