I remember using this software long ago back when Litestep was the bomb. But it seemed fairly buggy and crashed often but then again with Win95/98 the OS just wasn't as good as 2000/XP no matter if you were running shell replacements or not.

I like minimal, compact visual styles. Would Windowblinds give me any more cool UIs then just the visual style can provide? Like there is some mightly cool Linux UIs, but I'm sticking with XP because I game often.

So has anyone used a recent version? Worth it or should I give Litestep a try again maybe? (not even sure whats up with LS in the past few years!)
 
Its a lot more stable than the older versions but I still recommend LiteStep as the number one.

Check out wincustomize.com for a ton of options.
 
I use winblinds on my laptop and I like it a lot.

Used it on my desktop when I was running winxp pro but haven't re-installed it after getting MCE2005.

Laptop runs MCE2005 - winblinds doesn't slow anything down either.
 
I like it, but I prefer StyleXP, only because it doesn't do a "software-coverup" of the WinXP Visual Style. Meaning, with StyleXP, you can skin Windows without using any system resources. Can't say the same for WinBlinds, but WB has a better skin selection.
 
xgl+compiz pwns windowsblinds/aero glass. i mean it.

other than that remark i have uised windows blinds in the past and really liked it. unfortuantly i never really got the full versions cuz you have to pay. but is really convienend and adds bunch of neat features like previewing minimised windows, minimise to taskbar.
if your really looking for wye candy i recommend giving linux a whirl.
