Window Minimizing problem with 9800 Pro Radeon

I saw that catalyst 3.6 was out so I downloaded and installed them right away. Should I have uninstalled my other drivers first? Now that I installed it, right away windows for games get miminized and I have to alt tab and click a few times to bring up the window. Anyone have a diagnosis for this problem? AGH!
 
Every time you upgrade your catalyst drivers to a newer version you need to create a restore point so if they cause more problems than the previous version you can revert back to them. Live and learn.
Use Driver cleaner 1.9 to remove any remaining ATI drivers download at www.driverheaven.net/cleaner (sorry no link)

Now go into your control panel select add/remove programs
Select ATI conrol panel dont restart
Select ATI drivers restart abd reboot into safe mode hit (F8) several times while rebooting
Use driver cleaner to remove ATI files
Empty recycle bin
Reboot into normal mode
Cancel windows attempt to install drivers
Install the new ATI 3.6

also how do you stop Windows from installing, the last time I deleted drivers and restarted there was the icon in the right bottom that showed it was detecting new hardware and installing.
 
Also just wondering if anyone has had experience with this sort of problem and has successfully fixed it in this manner or any other manner.

I'm betting this only happens in OpenGL games. If so then others have been experiencing this issue as well. I'd recommend to revert back to Catalyst 3.5 if you play a lot of OpenGL games and wait for Catalyst 3.7 to resolve these problems.
 
I cant boot into Safe Mode for some reason...I press F8 and it says select boot device. There is a 16x DVD drive, a 3.5 Floppy, and something with a 378 in it. I Dont know what do to, I selected DVD just because I didnt know what to do and it just boots up normally. I dont know how to get safe!!! EEK! I have a P4C800 Deluxe Mobo if that matters any.
 
Hit F8 several times while the computer is attempting to reboot. Just hit cancel at least twice while windows is trying to install new drivers after you come out of safe mode then select your new drivers you want to install.
