windlows live messenger won't auto sign in

a few weeks ago my msn (windows live messenger) stopped auto signing in. not onlt that, but it won't even save my user name and password in the log in screen. so i have to retype my username and password everytime i log in,

i already tried doing the following

-make sure that the "auto sign in" box is checked under tools option
-make sure that the "remember user name and pass" "sign me in automatically" options are both checked in the log in screen.
-associated my e-mail with windows on the net passport.




i have windows xp service pack 3 and using windows live messenger 8.5.

i upgraded to the latest windows live 14, but still same problem.

please and thank you to anyone who can help me figure out this annoying problem.

First, best thing would probably be to uninstall/reinstall it.

ya tried that but it still wouldn't let me auto sign in. i gotta retype my email and password everytime.
