winchester memory controller

I know theres a thing with the A64 winchester memory controller where you cant have all four slots full or it doesnt run properly (cant remember what it does differently)
I can't remember if thats only when all 4 slots are being used or if the same problem also occurs with 3

I know several people that have attempted to get three DIMMs to work on their Athlon 64 (newcastle, winchester, venice) and couldn't. Can you?

With four sticks it Drops from DDR400 to DDR333 and uses 2T command rate. With Venice and SD it can run 4 sticks at DDR400 2T.

3 sticks will only work on A64's in single channel mode. you lose the main advantage of A64's "dual channel"
