Winamp VBR

OK, what's the deal?

Winamp totally messes up the lenght on all my VBR files.

Like, for tracks, 8, 3 and 4, it displays them as 50, 14, and 12 min. These are off of the new Creed CD i ripped.

It does this to all of my VBR files. The files lengths are way off the way winamp reports them.

Anyone else seen it?

Yeah, me too. I use Musicmatch to rip and if I use vbr, the track length gets all messed up in Winamp. If I use cbr with the same tracks, they show up like they should in Winamp. Winamp bug? Musicmatch bug? General vbr bug?

No biggie anyway. I've A-B'ed 224 cbr vs. 90% vbr and the 224 sounds better (closer to the original CD) on my high-end home stereo anyway, and for me file size isn't an issue.

I found a fix for it. Head to the winamp forums and search there. There is a prog named "vbrfix" which fixes the issue.
