Another Quintessential Player user here. I just discovered it and it sounds great! Turn off the pretty lights in the display and you'll get 5-7% resource usage.
Used to use Sonique, but it used too many resources. Went to Freeamp and decided it sounded crappy, so I found Quintessential.
