Winamp & Netscape Conflict

A friend of mine is having a problem with the latest Netscape and Winamp conflicting. To quote:

"I installed Netscape so I can have a browser that can use Java windows (since IE never got working again), but now when I try to use Winamp, sometimes a song freezes for about 8 seconds before playing when I start up Winamp. Other times it won't play at all and I have to reboot, other times it works perfectly."

He has tried re-installing both apps, but to no avail. Any ideas?
