I have been trying to play some streaming audio but when I click on the tune in button to listen, it fires up winamp but nothing plays. It doesn't look like it is buffering or connecting to a server or anything.

I uninstalled winamp and reinstalled the new 3.0.

Any idea's?

Maybe start up winfile (the old windows file manager) and change your file extensions to start in Windows media Player for that file extension instead. If it can't play it, it will download the appropriate file codec if possible.

Ya but I would really like to make winamp run these...

Anyone else have any ideas at all? I continue to completely uninstall winamp and install diff versions but no luck.

Is Winamp configured to use your internet connection?

for v2.81, look under:
Options -> Preferences -> Setup

or do you have firewall software stopping Winamp from accessing the internet?

Well I recently installed a router here at home...I don't know much at all about networking so I think winamp might not be able to access the internet.

I am on win2k with a netgear rt 314 gateway router. I bought the router used also so I don't have any instructions as to how to set it up...All I did was plug everything in and I was online.

Is it possible for you to bypass the router, for just as long as it takes you to try to connect to a SHOUTcast server?
