WA5 is working fine here and I like the default modern theme with the default color scheme. And damn, playlist of >1000 songs? How in the hell do you listen to all of that? I am rarely at my computer long enough to listen to a full CD much less 1000 tracks. 😕

yes, you can use any winamp skins with it. and they all work how they are supposed to 😛 unlike wa3's 2.x skin support

does this one support multiple playlists like in v3, that one you could click on the side nad have more than one playlist open

Downloaded it and it's looking good so far as I can tell. Anybody happen to know of a way to get it to play the iTunes AAC files if that's even possible? Yes I actually have purchased a few files and it'd be nice not to have to pop open iTunes to listen to each since Winamp 5 looks so good. It actually loads pretty quickly even with the MMD3 skin.

there's no way to play purchased itunes songs on anything other than itunes. but there's a plugin to play the songs you've encoded w/ itunes yourself (no DRM). it be nice if apple decided to make a plug in for winamp... only requiring you have itunes installed (to do the whole 3 computers max thing)... but that's just a pipe dream 😉

Unfortuneately no. That is the one feature I miss. It's remedied somewhat by the Media Library feature, but it doesn't completely replace it.

now that i've been using winamp 5 for awhile, i can say without a doubt that it completely blows iTunes away. That is all.

i dig the new version. but when i play cds, the cd-rom spins up to full RPM and stays there, making it kinda noisy. this happen to everyone else? did the same thing on two different PCs for me

it sucks. back to Wa3 i go

Didn't crash for me on 1105 songs. 😕

Didn't crash for me on 8240 songs. 😕 Anyway, this thing is a fricking MEMORY HOG. I usually have StatBar, Trillian, and a few IE's running. SysTray shows SystemWorks' antivirus, getright, NVidia settings control, and the Creative Audigy2 quick-link. I usually run ~180/200MB ram used. If I close all my IEs and just run Winamp5.01, my ram usage jumped to 430MB! WTF!

that aint good. it was pretty slow on my older P3866 / 512 MB Ram ..

cause it's the cost to pay for something like that.

winamp2 went from underdog, well loved, and skinny to .. the realms of REALone, iTunes, WMP9
