Winamp 3 is coming ....

Just check the bottom of the page.

<< Hot off the presses:

Winamp 3 has been okayed to launch

The programmers are now on overdrive to get an acceptable experimental preliminary pre-alpha test demo out to you folks. We're looking for some sort of release in 2-3 weeks, hopefully. SDK's have been long in coming, but will follow some undetermined time after. Watch this space for more news. Maybe now, we can actually get paid.

Nullsoft has NO plans to have AIM integrated into Winamp ... it was just a JOKE ... please read the goddamn page 😉

Did you guys read the fine print at the bottom of the page?!?

<< AOL instant messaging will be built into every winamp3 releases whether you like it or not! >>

😉

Hmmm.... looks like they've taken something that was small, fast, convenient, with just the right amount of customization, and they're working on turning it into typical bloatware that includes AIM and who knows what else. :|

I run winamp every now and again to play an MP3, I don't want it to have to run AIM every time I try to play an MP3. Sheesh....

Just like ICQ... another decent program turned to bloatware after AOL takes it over.

So sad. Oh well, I stopped using WinAmp a while ago anyway. Too bad WMP7 sucks so hard.

Winamp works perfectly for me, I don't see why it won't continue to improve. You all forget, Nullsoft hates being owned by AOL 🙂

Be glad it's AIM instead of ICQ. Talk about eating your resources and the day I see a non-beta release *snicker*, is the day Bush's head explodes and an alien flies out

hmm...knowing Nullsoft's usual attitude, and the way that was said, they could be joking around.

We'll soon see. And if 3.0 becomes bloatware, I'll just stick with my current installation, thank you very much. 🙂

Yes, nullsoft has done a great job with Winamp, but I can't help but think that they're now following the Microsoft-like path -- add more stuff, more stuff more stuff, even things that nobody uses or cares about. It's already gone from 2 mb at first to 5 mb and now even 12MB of space. urgh....

Heh and I was about to ask what they could possibly add to the current version... guess AIM was my answer. That might not be that bad but it's probably a feature everyone doesn't need

ICQ always sucked. Those Israeli half-wits bloated ICQ on their own. No wonder everyone uses AIM now.

Common guys ... shabby was just joking about AIM integration. If you visit the page, you'll see that there's nothing about this. 😉
