Winamp 2.91 Spyware?

I just upgraded to v2.91 from v2.81 and my firewall kept on prompting me to let it connect to an aol address. I've unchecked "Check new versions upon startup" and "Report anonymous usage stats." I can always deny Winamp, but that will also keep me from connecting to CDDB when I put in a CD. So firstly, is it spywaring? Should I downgrade to v 2.81?

no,
if you noticed... on installation you could always uncheck (not to install) AOL Music Support. try uninstall & reinstalling it without that AOL support.

yes I've stuck with 2.81....Netscape/AOL just settled with the FCC over tracking user information with that Nestcape Smart Download Manager and lying about it. Kinda like how MS lies about how it didn't collect info on every cd or dvd you playing with Windows Media Player.
