Hi, I need major help. I installed Win98se on my AMD K63-450, Asus P5ab mobo, and when I click start>shutdown, gave me this error:
"An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C26071D4 in Vxd. This was called from 0028:C182C8D8 in Vxd."
Any suggestions?

I installed the shutdown patch from microsoft, disabled Advance power mgt.,turned off PCI steering from device manager, didn't work.
Now, it's giving me this error:
"An exception OE has occurred at 0028:C00014AD in Vxd. This was called from 0028:C182C918 in Vxd.
I give up. I ordered WIN ME upgrade yesterday. I'll install it and see what happens.

jalva,

what OS were you running before you installed Win98se on your computer?

if it was win95, when you would go to shut down, would the computer automatically shut itself off, or would you have to turn off your computer when it would give you the "safe to shut down windows" message?

please post back......
