Win98se RAM

Everyone says that over 256MB won't really help 98. I don't know if this is true, but it is something to keep in mind.

I wouldn't recommend going over 512 for win98, I had 768MB but it started causing crashes until I reduced it bad to 512, so I ended up giving 256MB to someone else.

Why would Microsoft do what?

It wasn't until the time of Windows ME that people really started to buy crazy amounts of RAM and started to finally come up against the VCACHE 512MB limit. The workaround is described in my FAQ.

I've got no problems running 1Gb of RAM.
