Just won`t work right ! First time gived Vfat error but after some researching setting that "limit memory" to 512 mb makes windows starting , still with strange errors (nd32.dll error, blue screens)
Is it because of WIN98SE ( WINXP worked just fine, great speed) ?
Are there any chances to make it work ( i really need WIN98SE on it ) ??
I tried also to limit below 512 (384) but still errors !!

Have you tried taking out one of the sticks of RAM? Win 98 really doesn't like more than 512MB, and it will cauase it to crash..

Of course i could do that, i already did it and works fine but i would really like to make use of the extra memory i bought not to mention that dual channel improvements not working with one stick.
It must be a way, i`ve seen a lot of people showing off their specs like "Win98SE , 1 GB DDR Dual Channel and stuff ... ".:eek:

Well, I'm pretty sure there is a way to get 1 gig working decently. I'm a little bummed right now cuz i went to the link I had on the workaround and it has expired, so I can't post it or read it. It was a post here at Anandtech. Perhaps you can research the archives.

Here's a link to MS regarding an issue with 98 and more than 512 of ram. It concerns the vcache setting. You may have already seen/done this. If not though, may wanna check it out.

Add this to SYSTEM.INI to allow Win98 to use more than 512 MB of RAM:

MinFileCache=65536
MaxFileCache=65536

More info from the Borg of Redmond here and here. :)
