Hi there, I've got a little problem I'm not too sure about so here it goes:

I'm currentyly trying to dual boot Win98SE and Win2K. I partitioned a hard drive into C: and D: and I installed win 98 on the D:\ drive. After that I began the installation of Win 2K. However, when Win2K sets up, it asks for the installation of a SCSI/RAID/third party controller (the Promise Ultra controller). It asks for a floppy disk with the files. I have done this successfully before when I installed Win2K alone on a single partition. But for some reason, when I try it this time, I get the following error message: "File \Win2000\Ultra.sys caused an unexpected error at line 1211 in D:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\oemdisk.c." I'm not sure what that means, as I cant seem to find the file they're referring to. I have a feeling that this maybe the result of partitioning, and that the Win2K setp CD isn't reading the drive letters the way they should be.

Anyone have any suggestions or prior experience with this. I'm not sure what I should do at this point. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

I used the latest drivers on the ASUS site, as well as those that were originally on the CD... but both produced the above results...

do you make sure to hit F6 right when win2k installation starts and prompts you to do so to "install a third party device"?

yes, I did... that's when it prompted me to insert the disk with the Promise information. I just tried reinstalling everything again, and it seems to persist. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help sohcrates :)

ok, I fixed it. It turns out that the disk I had needed to be organized in folders, so the install program was looking for a certain folder (/win2000) that I didnt have. I made a folder, and it worked. Very strange, that I pulled it right off the asus site. Well thanks again for the help.
